Perfect wrap on a commercial vehicle

Wrapping a commercial vehicle is not that simple! In this video, you will see a comprehensive and detailed approach to mastering the application of self-adhesive film to wrap a commercial vehicle and, more specifically, the steps that involve deformations. Pascal, our HEX’PERT trainer, will guide you through each stage of the wrapping process on your commercial vehicle.

Learn how to apply self-adhesive film in a recess without deformation, how to work the memory of the vinyl and how to remove creases with exceptional precision. From preparation to final application, this comprehensive demonstration will teach you all the secrets of a perfect wrap on a commercial vehicle. If you follow these unique tips, you can be sure to achieve a professional result without any tension or deformation. Do not miss this opportunity to add another dimension to your skills in the world of car wrapping by learning how to apply self-adhesive film to a commercial vehicle!

We are going see the concave deformation on commercial vehicles. You are familiar with the stretched method by deforming the vinyl here. We are going to look at the developed technique. I positioned the vinyl. I’m going to make a hinge using the liner cutter. I apply the middle, I remove the magnets, I take off the liner up to here. I leave the liner below so that my vinyl doesn’t stick and I am going to the flat part without any tension and I’m going to come in round all the way to the edge of the deformation. Without straining the vinyl, without deforming it. I have applied the flat part with the squeegee. Now, with the glove, I’m going to mark the inside of the deformation without deforming the vinyl, without any strength. The advantage of this developed technique is that it allows to apply the vinyl in the recess without any deformation. The vinyl is now applied. I am going to lift off the edge to where the creases start and I put some heat to use the existing memory without pulling on it. You can see that my creases are receding without any tension. I lift off, I repeat the operation here without pulling on it. I put it down, my creases recede, the same here. I apply the vinyl, I lift it off here, I apply heat and put it down again. I always apply using the glove. I apply heat here to remove the creases.

Let’s move on next step

A little further on, the same thing I put it down. As you can see with very little tension, the creases run outside of the deformation. The concave part is finished. All I have to do now is spread out the creases on the flat part of the vehicle body. I apply some heat and there I’m going to start stretching the vinyl slightly. I mark the ridge, same here. I apply some heat, I stretch the vinyl, I put the vinyl in place I can finish this part piece here. I heat up slightly, I spread the material, I spread the creases with the minimum of tension. The vinyl is in place, I apply it and I can finish off the bottom part. I can now remove the liner completely. I put the vinyl into place. I mark the ridge. With the minimum of tension, I put the vinyl into place. Once it is in place, I apply it. I gently heat the whole thing. And now, I’m going to stretch the vinyl to put it into place. Once the vinyl is in place, I can apply it. My deformation is finished. The vinyl is applied. I am now going to use the ROLLCOV. The wheel allows, with a little heat, to flatten the structure of the adhesive to ensure that no air is left in the microchannels. I can now finish this part, make the cuts and always the last step apply heat at 90 degres to break up the memory. If you need to apply a printed vinyl, we recommend this technique because, as you can see, the image is not distorted.
